MX2 competition is red hot. And you’ll find the CRF250R at the centre of the fight. It brings MXGP championship-winning pedigree for high-speed cornering stability and control. The engine delivers strong mid-range performance and benefits from Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). Updated plastics define pure racing aggression. If you’re ready to step up, the CRF250R is where you start your winning move.
CRF250R: HRC to the core
The MX2 class is a relentless, close-quarter battle. And the CRF250R has proved itself a worthy weapon. Refined through competition, it’s a platform both amateur riders and pros can push to the limit, every lap.
It delivers high-speed steering precision and agility, with precise control from its frame and Showa™ suspension, plus strong mid-range drive and power past peak from its engine. Updated graphics underline its racing intent. At its core, the CRF250R carries race-winning HRC DNA.
CRF250RX: All terrain action
The CRF250R’s proven performance gives the enduro-ready CRF250RX a head start. Built to handle everything an enduro course throws at it, from gnarly climbs to tight, technical terrain.
It features an 8L fuel tank for extended range, 21-inch/19-inch wheels with Dunlop™ AT81 tyres, and enduro-specific settings for the engine ECU and Showa suspension to broaden performance. Standard knuckle guards protect hands and levers, while an aluminium side stand tucks neatly away.
CRF250R HRC Works Edition: Our ultimate
The CRF250R HRC WE – inspired by American Honda race bikes – takes performance further with full factory-level detail. A Yoshimura R&D™ exhaust and TwinAir™ filter boost torque and top-end power, supported by a hand-ported intake, unique ECU settings and a hydraulic clutch.
Premium finishes, upgraded suspension coatings and a 110-section Dunlop™ MX33 rear tyre sharpen control, while updated graphics complete the factory look.
Aluminium twin-spar frame
We’ve carefully tuned the frame’s rigidity balance to factory rider spec, to boost corner speed over rough, torn up track conditions and improve high-speed stability.
Redesigned 49mm Showa™ USD Forks
Top and bottom yokes steering stem and axle work with redesigned outer tubes; internals have been made to deliver consistent 250-spec. damping reaction and feel from the very first movement.
Power up 250cc DOHC Engine
More direct airflow in and a straighter exhaust out improves slow-speed throttle feel and picks up mid-to-top-end acceleration and power past peak, while a thoughtfully designed crankshaft spins up faster.
3-level Honda selectable torque control (HSTC)
The CRF250R is armed with HSTC, to minimise spin and maximise drive; there are light, medium and strong intervention levels to suit terrain or riding style. The system can also be turned off.
HRC-specification front brake caliper
A design taken straight from our factory race bikes, the two-piston front brake caliper reduces play by 57% by resisting heat fade. The re-machined body is more rigid, for consistent feel.
3-mode Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB)
Tailor the engine’s character to suit what you’re racing against: Mode 1 serves up a balanced power and torque delivery. Mode 2 smooths power and torque while Mode 3 punches aggressively.
3-level HRC Launch Control
Take the advantage. Level 1 operates at 8,000rpm, and is suitable for muddy conditions. 8,500rpm Level 2 is the base setting for dry conditions. Level 3 launches at 9,500rpm for expert riders.
Race Ready
The CRF250R’s bodywork is designed to make it even easier to move where you want, when you want. The radiator shrouds covering the 6.3L titanium fuel tank offer smoother knee trajectory back and forward, and everywhere around the bike race-minimal lines are clean and clear. Marking out the update are refreshed CRF family graphics, and a Honda Wing sits up front on the mudguard.
Competition Never Stops
We've given the CRF250R the same chassis as the MXGP CRF450R, to make it even more competitive in race series. And make no mistake. This is a full-factory specification upshift, driven by what it takes for HRC to give our riders the bike – 250 or 450 – they need to win. At any level, it’s tough. But that’s what we like. We’ve raced MX for over 50 years, experienced all the highs and lows. What we know, is what you see here.
