After years of building higher end and often pretty pricey Vintage custom bikes Mutt Motorcycles wanted to create something more accessible. Something not just cheaper but easier and more reliable than the the vintage bikes we usually worked with.
One of their main objectives was to keep the cost of 'The Mutt' as low as possible and still provide a quality product and with that in mind we needed a base to work from.
Mutt Motorcycles began working with various manufacturers in the Far East to source and develop the correct donor machine. The one they plumped for uses a version of the bullet proof Suzuki GN 125 made by a Suzuki partner which is in itself a perfect starting point. This base machine has a number of Mutt specific modifications to give it that classic custom look with spoked wheels, rear drum brake, a stylish British inspired tank and a classic twin shock frame shape.
All Mutt’s then come to our workshop in Birmingham, England – the historic home of British Motorcycle manufacture, where a skilled team complete the process of customizing and creating what you see as the Mutt.
Mutt Mongrel 125
You know when you just want to get somewhere without people getting in your way? The Mongrel is just for that purpose - a nasty little machine bred to be a city tool with a contemporary new wave street tracker vibe.
Whilst the Mongrel shares a lot of the classic lines and styling cues of our Desert Racer the Mongrel has a dark side, there is no chrome or pretty paint, we opted for satin black and silver finishes for that industrial thump you in the throat look.
Available in Black/Silver or Flat Gloss Grey
Mutt S-54 125
Continuing with the subtle blacked out vibe of our popular Mutt Mongrel the Mutt S-54 is the latest edition to the Mutt family, we are releasing this machine as a special edition of 100 bikes.
This S-54 has all the style and aggression of our Mongrel but has an added dash of style and panache for the discerning rider.
Available in Gloss Black and Stripe custom painted tank with Gloss Black side panels.
Mutt Desert Racer 125
The Mutt Desert Racer was created to make everything that’s desirable about a classic bike, accessible and affordable and without the aggro of maintaining a vintage machine.
The Desert Racer has all the mod cons of a modern bike, oh yes, we have indicators, 5-speed box, gear indicator and an electric boot all wrapped up in a pre-seventies British style twin shock chassis with a twist of American influenced customising for that McQueen, dune jumping, fun on any Sunday vibe.
A limited special edition, the Mushman is our new road scrambler and styled with classic British lines in mind.
Of course the Mushman Mutt was heavily influenced by Mr. Harvey Mushman's own racing Triumph. You're telling me you don't know who Harvey Mushman was? You're twisting my melon man.
Available in Racing Green and Satin Black
Buster & Punch
Our back ground is in one off custom Motorcycles, with a 15 year history in bike building and over 200 hand built motorcycles under our belt we felt it was only right to continue the custom work into our Mutt range.
Benny has worked with Buster + Punch, one of the worlds leading lighting and interior designer houses on several motorcycle projects including a completely bespoke Harley Davidson and a Hand built Honda cafe racer.
Our Classic Trials bike is one of our New Imperial range - quintessentially classic styled machines taking hints from the great motorcycle marques through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s with an attention to detail. What better way to kick the New Imperial range off than introducing our classic Trials machine.
Imperial Roadster 125
New Imperial is the classic side of Mutt, a brand born in Birmingham in 1901 and now part of the Mutt family the New Imperial Roadster continues the tradition of the marque.
Our deep gloss black paint and New Imperial Mechanical Lion logo is painted right here in the UK by our team at Mutt.
Chrome shocks, headlight, speedometer and indicators help set the Roadster off as a modern classic.
The New Imperial Trails is a classic bike in every sense apart from the bits that make it go and stop, we have gone to great lengths to recreate the vintage off road look paying close attention to the finishing touches. The twin shock frame is sprung by classic chrome rear shocks and telescopic forks with rubber gaitors.
