Say ‘Alright Bab' to the Mutt Mastiff.
The Mastiff is the latest addition to the Mutt Family. Brutal yet refined, and oh boy have we stepped up the game with this little tarmac pounder.
We wanted to make the Mastiff the king of the Mutts, so with that in mind we decided to add a little love here and there to make him a little different yet still retain that unmistakeable outline of a Mutt Motorcycle.
First up is that monster tank. We designed this tank specifically for our two newest models the Mastiff and the GT-SS. We wanted to keep the classic tank shape but add a helping of steroids, so we boosted the capacity to 17 litres. Sitting on the Mastiff and looking down at the huge tank is a beautiful sight. We topped the tank off with a neat Monza style chrome cap for that classic British vibe.
'Details, details, don't bother me with details'
We've gone a step further with the detailing on the Mastiff
Up front we have a super wide deep tread tyre wrapped around a black rim 18" with stainless spokes, cropped brushed aluminium mudguard, headlight grill and our beautiful stainless steel mini speedometer topped off with a set of anodised black Mutt bars.
Look closer and you'll see some super neat little details. We've got those super cool machined LED indicators, CNC machined headlight brackets, fork caps and head stem nut and those oh so pretty black anodised handlebar clamps. Looks pretty neat eh? (These details are not on these prototype photos so check out this puppy in the flesh at your local dealer).
Moving along the bike we’ve gone for a custom flat black and flat silver paint job accentuating the shape of that hefty tank, we've continued the paint theme on to the side panels. The contoured diamond stitch tan seat and grips set off the paint a treat.
Get low down on the bike and you'll see our raw satin finished stainless steel exhaust system and as you probably already know... that's what makes a Mutt bark like it does. We've also got a new heavy duty aluminium sump guard on there, oh and you'll also see we have some funky little CNC valve covers and oil filler cap on there too… details, details (These details are not on these prototype photos so check out this puppy in the flesh at your local dealer).
Heading to the rear we have a matching 18" rear wheel and tyre, a shortened brushed aluminium mudguard and our tidy little Aluminium LED tail light.
So, if you want to be king then get yourself to your local Mutt dealer and check out the Mastiff in person.
All new Mutt’s have few little subtle upgrades that you may not notice at first but take a closer look and you'll see some nifty little touches you won't see on other bikes.
First off, we have new LED indicators hewn from a solid block of aluminium by the process of CNC and mounted on a machined stainless steel arm. We’ve also now got machined aluminium headlight brackets too, that set up makes for a pretty tidy front end.
Moving back a bit we get to the handlebar clamps, we now have fully CNC'd clamps coated in a super durable hard anodised black finish.
As always with Mutt Motorcycles we use the skills we learned building one off custom motorcycles and machined aluminium is one of those cool processes that gives a motorcycle a true custom look. Machined fork caps and head stem nut, once again coated in a beautiful anodised finish, combined with the new speedometer surround this provides a beautifully finished view when glancing down at your speed.
One of our favourite new touches requires a bit more scrutiny, kneel down and take a look at the motor, we have a new CNC oil filter cap but look a little closer and you'll see some new machined valve covers on top of the engine reminiscent of 60's and 70's Brit bikes. That’s a little detail not everyone sees straight away but we like it.
Finally, we get to the chunky little posterior of a Mutt and you'll see four beautifully machine CNC nuts holding the rear shocks on.
We've also been busy with some sheet metal work, we've designed a brand new angular sump guard and matching rear master cylinder cover giving the bikes a lower slung more aggressive look, Bruce Wayne would be proud of them.
