The founder and Chairman of the company has been in the motorcycle trade since 1960. A racing legend holding over 50 replicas in the Isle of Man TT in a racing career spanning over 30 years. Former ACU chairman and continuous service to motorcycle sport makes this man well known in the industry. Still working he continues his great passion of helping up and coming riders in the racing world.
Mark is Bill's son and joined the company straight from school. Mark followed in his dads footsteps and started racing bikes at an early age but now devotes all his time to the business and over the years has developed a superb product knowledge. If you are looking for something different Mark can usually find it having strong international contacts. He has over the years visited all of the manufacturers factories so has a great understanding of the industry.
Karen has been in the family business since 1987 where she began working in the Liverpool branch. She likes to be involved with all the business and takes great pride in the company. She takes a special interest in the clothing dept which she sees as a great market for the future and this year she has concentrated on commuter sales including radio and media advertising to bring in new types of customer. In charge of the financial running of the company and all the staff however she likes to keep her hand in and can be seen selling the bikes as well as the men! Karen is fully FSA trained in all areas of Finance
Sam has become a huge part of the day to day running of the company. His IT experience he has brought to the company is priceless and he has moved the compnay forward in this area and continues to do so. Married to Bills Daughter Claire, Sam is now an adopted 'Smith!!!' and has the same passion and pride for the company that they all do !!
Jan is fully qualified FSA and specialises in taylor made packages and as well as looking after all your financial needs she overlooks all the administration, as well as selling a bike or two!!
Kelvin has been in the bike trade now for many years having started at Wylie and Holland in Telford and joined Bill Smiths in Sept 2004 , owner of a few bikes, Kelvin is passionate about his Triumphs. Always willing to give out advice for new riders , Kelvin is a 15000 mile a year rider so has plenty of riding experience home and abroad. He also organises the RAT pack . Recently purchased himself a little chopped down zzr600...its a little crazy like he is.
Dave has been with Bill Smith Motors since 1990 and has over 20 years experience in the motorcycle trade. If you need to discuss any of the customs we have on sale then Diddy Dave is the man.......rides a Triumph Street Triple and loves it!!
A face some of you may well recognise...have you realised where yet? Andy used to run Wrexham scooters with his father bill (not our bill!!). Wrexham scooters ceased trading in Dec 2006 and luckily for us Andy wanted to stay in the industry and has joined the stores department. Andy has been in the industry since leaving school...so that's a while then...and his knowledge is supreme. Anything Honda Andy is your man. He prides himself on his knowledge of the history of Honda motorcycles
Lee joined us in January 2010 and has been in the moter trade since he left school. Being a keen biker himself since 1999 Lee rides a Suzuki SV650 and is able to help you with any of your accessory requirements. Even if your not changing your bike at the moment why not consider upgrading with some new accessories.
Ian has the role of managing the workshop. If you are after an oil change, warranty request or full service Ian is the man to call. Ian is often away racing and on his debut at the TT in 2007 managed a fastest lap of 120mph aboard his GSXR1000K6 - only the 3rd ever debut rider to do so! He also returned with 2 x replicas. Alongside the isle of man TT Ian races at BSB level in the superstock cup series. Since getting back from the TT Ian has not been outside of the top ten with a podium at the Oulton Park round.
Gaynor joins us from a retail background selling jewellery for a major national jewellers. Since joining us Gaynor's knowledge of merchandise in the clothing department is ever growing. Gaynor has the tough job of covering the parts phones when we are busy so please feel free to leave your information with her and she will pass the details over for the lads to call you back.
Michelle joined the company in 2007 and was relatively new to the motorcycle industry but has settled in very well working along side Gaynor in the Clothing department. Certainly been bitten by the bug though, as she has since bought a bike done the test so understands your needs if you are new to biking.
Barry joined the Company in 2001 and has over 30 year experience in the motorcycle industry. Since joining us he has become the workshop foreman.
Gary joined us after completing his work experience from school and enjoyed working with us so much he wanted to stay, so he did and became a Technician, and now assist Barry with the running of the workshop.
Ian joined us in 2007 and has a wealth of experience in the motor trade, having once had his own shop and previously worked for Wrexham Honda and Crewe Honda, Ian has over 30 years experience and is Honda MAC trained.
Keith has been with us now for some years and having once had his own business, now looks after our van deliveries, valeting and backs up our busy workshop when required. Keith specialises in SVA testing of vehicles and electrical fault finding.
Ollie joined us in 2007 on work experience and has now started working in the workshop as apprentice. Ollie has had some excellent success grass track racing coming 3rd in the Northern Riders Championship. Ollie rides a Suzuki RM250
